Wolf V084 is the breeding female of the Cranberry Bay Pack, one of the most remote packs in the Greater Voyageurs Ecosystem.
Wolf V028, the breeding male of the Moose River Pack until 2018, was photographed here on a remote camera. Remote cameras are an invaluable tool for studying wolves in densely forested areas like Voyageurs.

We collared this young yearling wolf, Wolf V095, in Spring 2020. We then studied the predation behavior of this wolf from April to October.
To study the reproductive ecology of wolves, we visit dens to count the number of pups and to tag the individual pups with pit-tags. This work helps us understand many aspects of wolf reproduction, including wolf pup survival.
Austin Homkes carefully collects a blood sample from Wolf V055 of the Sheep Ranch Pack. Blood samples can be used for genetics, diet, and disease/parasite screenings.
We collared this young yearling wolf, Wolf V095, in Spring 2020. We then studied the predation behavior of this wolf from April to October.
